I See. I Like. I Blog.

Congrats — you’ve been handed a robot whose sole job is to relieve you of one chore, job or responsibility you particularly hate. What is it?

You, Robot, shall be my personal Chauffeur!

Don’t get me wrong though, people. It’s not that I dislike driving. On the contrary, I love doing those long-distance drives, cruising down the highway and coastal roads every chance I get. This penchant for driving, I must have taken after my late father.

You see, I “grew up” in the car when I was a child — tagging along with my father almost every where he went, including the numerous business trips he had to make out of town. My mother would join us, though I have to say, Mom would have made a lousy co-driver if ever my father had needed one! She’s the kind who can simply switch off as soon as she gets into the car, and would be out like a light before the car even made it out of the neighborhood! Heh. And so it was always the two of us in the end – father and daughter – enjoying each other’s company on the road. Those were good times…

Anyway, as I was saying, I love to drive — always have and still do. Except that nowadays, with more and more vehicles on the road and the incessant traffic jams occurring almost on a daily basis, driving is slowly becoming a bit of a chore for me.

It would be great to have someone else take over the wheel once in a while. Or in this case, some thing! Besides, I do fancy the idea of me sitting in the back, read the papers or magazine, or play Candy Crush, like a bawz!Β It’d be grand to be driven right up to the doorstep of the office, or the lobby of some posh hotel without having to crane my neck out for a parking spot.

And that’s what I will have my robot do. I’ll have it rewired for some minor adjustments too, like, hold the door open for me, keep the car clean and shiny, fix the car in case of a breakdown, et cetera. In short, the robot is required to undertake all that is expected of a professional ‘human’ chauffeur.

So, thank you, Mister Daily Prompter for the kind offer, which I would gladly accept. I have just one small request though — could you make this Robo-Chauffeur of mine look and speak like Jason Statham @ The Transporter? I’d appreciate that very much!

So I’ve been here before and liked – not goog enough! I did enjoy reading this, and there is no way I can sleep if someone else is driving. Bad back seat driver, I am.
