These are some of the magnificent ancient frescoes that can be found in a cave on top of Sri Lanka’s Sigiriya Rock Fortress. There are about 22 paintings, all depicting exquisite female figures. To get to the cave, you need to climb a set of spiral staircase about 4 storeys high.
Sigiriya is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can read more here.
Lovely photos! Climbing the rock itself is an amazing experience. Something everyone should definitely do. When we went though there was a bee problem so we could not stay for too long as there were swarms. Looking forward to reading more of your posts!
Imagine living in a mansion so high up, complete with an olympic size pool and caves to explore. the Prince sure knows how to pick a spot!
Thanks for stopping by Hanna 🙂
Great post however I was wondering if you could write a litte more on this topic? I’d be very thankful if you could elaborate a little bit more. Cheers!
