I See. I Like. I Blog.
Have you ever had that awkward moment when you tell a friend how much you enjoy the food at such-a-such restaurant, only to get a ho-hum response, like, “I’ve tasted better”? That can hurt. And to think you’re the one having to fork out the bill afterwards!
Okay, so the food really sucks.
Now if the tables are turned, where you had been that person who didn’t enjoy the food that your friend spoke so highly of, how would you react then?
Would you –
A. Be brutally honest and go like, “You call this nice?!”; or
B. Say something polite, for fear she might just bawl right there in the restaurant; or
C. Play along and pretend as if it’s your last meal on earth, so long as you don’t have to pay for the food.
But before you dive in, bear in mind that taste is a subjective matter. One man’s poison might just be another’s Ambrosia. Also, ask yourself, would it matter to you who the host is? What if it was your Boss (gasp!) buying you that ‘special’ lunch?
I will go for B. After all, it’s just food, not dog poop. And besides, I could always spike his or her coffee afterwards – boss or no boss! Heh.
